Vadim Kagan

Mr. Kagan has over 20 years of experience in the information technology areas. His contributions range from working on financial forecasting software (Ministry of Commerce, Russia), to developing opinion research systems for Westat (Rockville, MD), to building large scale search, data ingestion and syndication capabilities for AOL LLC. Mr. Kagan conducted his undergraduate studies in physics at the Leningrad (St.-Petersburg) University, and holds BS and MS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland in College Park, where he was a graduate student of Professor V.S. Subrahmanian.

Dr. Subrahmanian is a Professor at the University of Maryland in College Park, holding appointments at the Department of Computer Science, Institute for Advanced Computer Sciences (UMIACS), and Institute for Systems Research. He is currently the Director of the Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS). Dr. Subrahmanian received the NSF National Young Investigator Award in 1993 and the Distinguished Young Scientist Award from the Maryland Science Center/Maryland Academy of Science in 1997. His primary area of research is in databases and artificial intelligence. He is the principal researcher of the SentiMetrix technology.
Diego Reforgiato Recupero
Diego Reforgiato developed the core OASYS engine and is responsible for ongoing enhancements of the SentiMetrix technology. He is a postdoctoral research assistant at the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. Dir. Reforgiato's primary areas of research are in AI, databases and their applications to social and P2P networks.
